Well today I started my sugar free challenge. January 3, 2010.
Its actually quite interesting because after reading the posts of the other group members I realized that I
don't actually eat that much sugar. I have what I call the hidden sugar issue.
I always knew that was the case but now it's even more apparent.
Bread, pasta, crackers, using a pre made sauce or dressing. Reading labels in the last week has been enlightening.
AND OF COURSE THEN THERE WERE THE HOLIDAYS.
I was glad I sent out this invitation and set the intention BEFORE the holidays.
I really watched my impulses. And if I chose to eat something with sugar it was a real CHOICE.
And i watched myself this holiday season say to myself, "Ya know what I want to wake up feeling good, I'll pass."
That felt great.
So my commitment for this 21 day cycle is really read labels.
Make my own dressings and sauces.
Cut out crackers.
Cook my own food.
Up my vegetable intake and learn more vegetable recipes.
And I am looking forward to ADDING in lots of winter vegetables. The CROWDING OUT METHOD
Have fun with it all.
Practice ahimsa (loving kindness) if I make a different choice (meaning eat something I said I wouldn't) one day
Remember its not about being perfect.
Day one :
ATE:
Cooked rye flakes with cin, butter and yes agave (just a touch) with some sunflower seeds and goji berries.
Lunch was salmon with arugula and millet bread.
Fruit and yogurt (plain) for a snack.
And dinner....not sure yet?
Looking forward to cooking a lamb stew tomorrow in the crockpot.
OH Just got back from my sunday night yoga class.
I love taking yoga on Sunday nights because it sets the tone for the week.
Two things i remembered I wanted to share with the SF challenge members:
THE QUESTION:
who are you being with your relationship to sugar (or food)? We will discuss this
and REMEMBER THE PRACTICE
Just observe what you feel, think, sense when setting the intention to be SUGAR FREE.
Its not a race, you are not better if you make it, this is a way to set an intention for your life!
